Jeannie was born on a Thursday, May 17th, 1956 in Richwood, West Virginia. Although a native of West Virginia, she lived across the border in Ohio where she graduated from Theological Seminary College with a Bachelors degree until relocating to Florida forty-five years ago, eventually settling in Punta Gorda. Jeannie who was an only child, raised a son Michael on her own and never remarried, but found love in her beloved companion of 18 years, Bruce W. Rickert. Jeannie and Bruce have resided together for many years at Shell Creek RV Resort & Marina where Jeannie was very active within the Parks community volunteering for numerous varied activities regularly and served as the Park Recreation Associations President.
While working hard as an area manager for Farm Stores Convenience stores, she also enjoyed traveling and spending time with nature. Among her favorite pass times was Rockhounding; Jeannie was an avid Rockhound and enjoyed hunting for studying and collecting rocks, gems, minerals and fossils from their natural environments. Another of her favorite pastimes was checking out Paranormal Activity sites wherever they may be, which led her and Bruce to visit many locations including cemeteries known for paranormal activity.
Jeannie who was preceded in death by her mother and father, is survived by her son, Michael and daughter-in-law Erica Balmer, two grandchildren, Phillip and Maggie Balmer, and her beloved companion, Bruce Rickert.
