Rafael Mirabal, 82, of Punta Gorda, Florida, sadly passed away at home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
Rafael was born on July 10, 1941, in Santa Clara, Cuba. He arrived in the United States on June 2, 1972, at the age of 31 years old, after having resided in Madrid, Spain for six months. Rafael had worked as an electrician, a welder, and an experienced home contractor. He always was available to whomever needed help from his talented abilities and services. He was passionate about many things, including fishing, boating, and working as carpenter, creating beautiful original woodwork. Rafael was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Rafael is survived by his wife of thirty years, Ohilda Mirabal, his daughters Lorraine (Luis) Morejon, Ohilda (Scott) Bombardier and Ileanna (Herbert) Bosch; his brother, Lazaro Mirabal; his nephew, Leonardo Mirabal, and two nieces, Marlene and Nuria Mirabal. When Rafael left his earthly home to be with the Lord, he also left behind seventeen grand and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM, May 4, 2024, at the Family Church, 20035 Quesada Ave., Port Charlotte, Florida 33952. Interment will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, Punta Gorda, Florida.
