Lonnie and Ginny Gibbs left a message on February 22, 2014:
During my young life, Aunt Doris and Uncle Ralph's was a fun place to go and we spent many traditional Sundays with them and Grandma and Grandpa Hinze. During our married life of 40 years, we continued to enjoy spending time with them along the way. But the past 7 years in particular, both Dorie and Ralph have been the "calm" in our storm. They were always there to help out with our Mom and Dad during their final years. Offering assistance, being a sounding board, and being that lifeline we so often needed. They shared in our joys, struggles and sorrows, both personally and professionally. To us, Ralph was a smart, talented, giving, caring man. We enjoyed seeing the bowls he was creating, eating what he had grown in his garden, and hearing about his work at Habitat for Humanity. We talked about work, both ours and his, church, religion, politics, family and more. It was our blessing to have Ralph Hinze be a part of our lives. He will forever be in out heart until we meet again.

A very humble man, he always shied away from much deserved recognition for his dedication and hard work on Habitat's construction sites. I've enjoyed my conversations with him. He will be missed very much.
