He was born August 22, 1933 in Louisville, KY and moved to Punta Gorda Isles in 1988 from Maryland. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Air Force. He was a retired purchasing manager for the University of Maryland Hospital and worked at Don Gasgarth’s Charlotte County Ford in Port Charlotte and St. Andrews Golf Club in Punta Gorda. Member of American Legion, Elks Lodge and lifetime member of VFW, Moose Lodge, volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Survived by his loving wife of 44 yrs, Elaine H. Heffernan of Port Charlotte; two daughters, Debra McCombs of Cary, NC and Jody (husband- John) Luttrell of Fallston, MD; two grandsons, Raymond McCombs and Jack Luttrell.
