Richard was born January 3, 1918 in Monroe, Indiana and moved to Port Charlotte in 1975 from Dayton, Ohio. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Richard was a WWII veteran who served in the U.S. Navy. Richard was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandy Creevey of Port Charlotte; his son, Richard C. Davis of Morrison, CO; a brother, Kermit B. Davis of Indianapolis, IN; 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret W. Davis.
Visitation will be held 6:00PM-7:00PM, Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. A Prayer Service will follow at 7:00PM, Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial and committal with Military Honors will be held in Dayton, OH.
