RICHARD N. EBANKS, 49, of Punta Gorda, Florida died suddenly on September 14, 2019 at Doctor’s Hospital in Sarasota, Florida.
Richard was born October 2, 1969 in Jamaica, West Indies and immigrated to the United States in 1981 to Mount Vernon, New York. He moved to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1992.
Richard graduated from Mount Vernon High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. Richard was a Senior Accountant for Euro-Wall Corporation of North Port, Florida. He was intelligent and loved numbers so it’s no surprise that he did so well in his chosen field. Richard’s colleagues speak highly of him because of his professionalism and dedication to his work.
He will be best remembered for his dedication to his family and loyalty to friends. Richard’s wit was one of his best qualities. He made everyone around him laugh and he brought light into a room. Richard will be sorely missed as he touched the lives of the people who were fortunate enough to know him. A devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend, Richard will live in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 23 years, Regine Ebanks, two daughters, Yanesi and Bianca Ebanks; mother, Hyacinth Ebanks-Smith; father, Desmond Ebanks; two sisters, Minerva Williams and Maryum Anderson; two brothers, Phillip and Ian Ebanks and his step-father Devon Smith.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 from 5:00PM-6:00PM for the family and 6:00PM-8:00PM for friends and other loved ones at Roberson Funeral Home, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Florida 33948. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2036 Loveland Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33980. Viewing is 10:00AM-11:00AM and the service begins at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
