Richard Norman Trudell, 71, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte.
Richard was born January 31, 1946 in Providence, Rhode Island to Rudolph and Zena (Savino) Trudell. He was a graduate of Warren High School, Warren, RI and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a marine engineer and served 5 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He moved to Port Charlotte in 2001 from Warren, RI and retired from the Seminole Gulf Railroad.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Debra Jean Yuncker-Trudell; a daughter, Jessica Zimmerman; two sons, Jeremy and Jason Trudell; step-children, Tina Mays-Waller, Debbie Mays-Soares, Joseph Mays, Laurie Mays-Alves, Melissa Wilson, Jeff Roland, Toby Roland, Nichole Roland and Bradley Yuncker; his mother, Zena Trudell; a sister, Deborah Sylvia; and 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Rudolph and his brother, Edward.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Interment and military honors will be held at later date at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, in Bristol, RI.
