It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my beloved husband, Robert Alzner, 61, who left us on September 23, 2024, unexpectedly at our home in Port Charlotte, Florida.
He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories and hilarious sense of humor. He truly brought the life to the party. No matter the circumstance, you’d always leave with a story of something funny/crazy Bob did while you were with him. Bob was born on February 9, 1963, to James Alzner and Margaret (Cline) in Alliance, Ohio. Bob graduated from Southeast High School in Ravenna, Ohio and was involved in many sports. His love was basketball but he excelled in all. He was known as a jock and gained the nickname ‘Bobby Allstar’, even though he was short. Bob served in the Army for 4 years and continued serving his country in the National Guard for many more years in Columbus, Ohio. After attending Ohio State, he spent 28 years working for Nationwide Insurance in IT Disaster Recovery and was respected for his hard work, dedication, expertise and humor.
He is survived by his wife Tracey Serback, his child Drew Alzner, his siblings Patti Votaw, James Alzner, Scott Alzner, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Bob met the love of his life, Tracey Serback, and they were married for almost 10 wonderful years.
In loving memory of Bob, we will be having 2 celebrations of life, the first will be held in Alliance, Ohio at Robertsons Heating Supply located at 2155 W. Main St. from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, and the second in Sunbury, Ohio at the VFW Sunbury Post 8736′ Fletcher Hall located at 435 McGill St. from 12:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 26th, 2024. Please bring a story to share. Bob will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bob’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project and make a difference in the lives of injured warriors.
