Robert “Bob” F. Vorbroker, 92, of Punta Gorda, Florida died Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Bayfront Health-Punta Gorda.
He was born January 23, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Clifford and Catherine (Lorenz) Vorbroker. Bob was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of several fraternal organizations. He was a dedicated employee of WalMart for 13 years.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Dianne (Gofrank) Vorbroker; a son, Robert J. Vorbroker; a daughter, Sharon (husband-Richard) Hodder; two grandchildren, Bridgette and Michael Brozovic.
Interment with military honors by a U.S. Army Honor Guard will be later at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation ww5.komen.org or a favorite charity.

So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I will always remember the Coconut Races at the Holiday Inn on the river. Cocktails and stories with Bob, Diane, Ann and Don. Great memories of fun wonderful people. Diane you are in my prayers.

what a great guy! I can remember Bob and my Dad and their crew on my dad's porch having beers on Pembroke avenue in Detroit in the summer time in the sixties.I'd give anything to have those those days back! back

Dear Diane: How bittersweet it’s been knowing you and Bob all these years. From our first meeting on St. Thomas – and Bob in the hospital and you trying to get your belongings off the cruise ship before it sailed – to now, the end of a chapter. I am so sorry to hear about Bob.. I still remember you guys in Michigan and being friends with my parents. I also remember when my parents lived in Punta Gorda and I would come to visit my parents and see you guys also. Hugs to you

We are sad to think of Bob's passing, Diane. I know how hard this has been for you. We will always remember the time we sat on your lanai and watched the Blue Angels fly over.
