Robert Irvin Huey, 84, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at HCA Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.
Robert was born to Richard I. and Mary E. (Markley) Huey on November 13, 1940 in Kenton, Ohio. Robert liked watching his friend Rollie Beale race at Toledo Speedway, CB radios, fishing, cowboy shows, attending sporting events and watching wrestling and baseball games. He liked buying toys for Liam especially dinosaurs. He was a tool and die maker. He started at Kaiser Jeep in Toledo, OH and retired from Ford Motor Company in Sandusky, Ohio after 30 years of service. He was a good man who loved life to the fullest and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda (Linder); 2 daughters, Jolynn (Rick) Driftmyer of Parkland, FL and Lisa L. (Derek) Wood of Frederick, CO; 2 sons, Robert R. (Dolly) Huey of Monroe, MI and Christopher S. (Jennifer Hazelwood O’Lear) Linder; his sister, Patricia (Tom) Uncapher, VA; grandkids, Blake Nichols, Chris (Theresa) Huey, Andrew (Megan) Wood, Tessa (Samuel Jordan) Stone, Ellie, Marleigh, Abbie and Liam O’Lear; great-grandkids, Davis Huey, Lucas Huey, Jensen Wood, Connelly Wood, Wells Wood, Thia and Samuel Stone. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn (Jeannie) Shaffer and son, Richard F. Linder.
A Celebration of life service will be held this summer of 2025 in Norwalk, OH. Internment will be held at St. Alphonse Catholic Cemetery at that time.
