He was born December 8, 1915 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to
Port Charlotte in 1971 from there. He was a retired carpenter and served in the
the Army National Guard in Pennsylvania.
He is survived by two sons, David C. (Bernadette) Smith of Punta Gorda
and Robert L. (June) Smith of Freedom, PA; three grandchildren, Holly, Debbie and David; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Louise Smith who died in 2001.
