Ronald Schwietz, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully in Punta Gorda, Florida, on Wednesday, April 30^th, 2025, at the age of 82.

Ron was married to the love of his life, Jacqueline, for over 60 wonderful years, a testament to their enduring commitment and deep affection.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Sophie and his sister Debra. He is survived by a brother Archbishop Emeritus Roger Schwietz, OMI and sisters, Judy Albers, Susan McGurty, and Mary Dimick.

Born on May 11^th, 1942, in St Paul, MN, Ron lived a life filled with humor, dedication to his family and had a passion for hunting and fishing. He built a beautiful family with Jacqueline, and together they raised three daughters: Kristin Gaffaney (married to Troy Gaffaney), Karin Schwietz, and Amy Johnson (married to Kirk Johnson). Ron was a consistent source of love and support for his children, guiding them with wisdom, faith, and always offering a helping hand.

Ron’s joy multiplied with the arrival of his six grandchildren: Joshua, Laura, Ryan, Jesse, Gunnar, Carly and 2 great grandchildren Simon and Evelyn. He delighted in their accomplishments, shared in their laughter, and created lasting memories with them.

Ron will be deeply missed by his wife Jacqueline, his daughters and their spouses, his beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, work ethic, and unwavering love for God and his family.

A funeral mass celebrating Ron’s life will be held 1:00 Pm on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, Florida.  A private committal will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ron’s name to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
