She was born July 26, 1918 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Walter B. and Sarah Louise Imhoff. Mrs. Brown moved to Port Charlotte in 1995 from Pittsburgh. She was a member of the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Brown was also a member of the Port Charlotte Women’s Club and a Past Worthy Matron of Mt. Lebanon Chapter #420, Order of the Eastern Star of Pittsburgh.
There is no immediate surviving family. She is survived by friends at church and South Port Square. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband Melvin B. Brown who died in 1996.
Funeral services will be held Friday 2:00 PM, September 7, 2012 at the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, 21075 Quesada Blvd., Port Charlotte, Florida 33952. Rev. Brian James will officiate. Graveside services and interment will be held later in Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
