Ruby L. Bandy, 70, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte.

Ruby was born March 18, 1943 in Suffolk, Virginia and moved to Port Charlotte six years ago from LaFayette, Georgia. Ruby was a retired cosmetologist. She and her husband traveled to different states via motor home enjoying the beauty of nature and what life had to offer. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Ruby is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Roger; a daughter, Tina Lee (Greg) Bandy- Lovern of LaFayette, GA; a son, Michael H. Bandy of Port Charlotte, FL; a sister, Sudie (Bob) Brinn-Early of VA; 2 brothers, Otis “Buddy” (Brenda) Brinn, Jr. of VA and David S. (Laura) Brinn of AZ; a brother in law, Conrad A. Seymour of NC; 5 grandchildren, Cori, Christopher, Nicholas, Shelby and Morgan; 3 great-grandchildren, Van, Wyatt and Skyler and numerous nieces and nephews including, Connie (Bob) Seymour-Cummings. She was preceded in death by her loving sister, Ann Brinn-Seymour.

No services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 992 Tamiami Trail, Unit C-2 Port Charlotte, FL 33953 or the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692 Dallas, TX 75284-0692.

Ruby was such a giving, loving lady! She would come have lunch with Nicholas at school and always offered to help. She was a smiling, wonderful volunteer at Liberty Elementary School and always will be known as "The Popcorn Lady".
