Salvatore Diana, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida died August 16, 2013 at Douglas T. Jacobson Veterans Nursing Home, Port Charlotte.
He was born June 2, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Port Charlotte in 1992 from West Paterson, New Jersey. He was a veteran of WorId War II and the Korean War, serving in the US Navy. He was a retired quality control supervisor and a retired firefighter for W. Paterson Fire Department in NJ; Member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church and American Legion Post #110 and former member of Elks Lodge #2763 in Deep Creek. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather; he will be missed but not forgotten.
Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy M. Diana of Port Charlotte; two sons, COL (Ret) Ronald F. ( wife-Marci LT COL (Ret. ) Diana of Covington, Washington and Robert G. (wife-Cathy) Diana of Vernon, NJ; a brother, Larry Diana of Wayne, NJ; a sister, Mary Ann Braga, of Wayne, NJ; seven grandchildren, 1 LT Richard( wife- Trisha), Michael, Nicole, Jade, Brandon and Aubrey;
Visitation will be held 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday August 21, 2013 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Military Honors and entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
