Samuel C. Lagalo, 91, of Lake Suzy, Florida passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Bayfront Health of Port Charlotte.
Samuel was born May 28, 1922 in Saginaw, Michigan and moved to Florida in 1993 from Oscoda, Michigan. He was a WWII veteran and served 6 months in the Pacific serving proudly in the U.S. Navy. Samuel was a retired conductor of the C&O Railroad and a motel owner in Oscoda, MI. He was a life member of the VFW, American Legion, Moose Lodge and Nazarene Church of Punta Gorda. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survivors include his son, Samuel C. (Catherine) Lagalo, II of Merrillville, IN; his daughter, Nancy (Juan) Lagalo-Gutierrez of Houston, TX; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Betty Gowan of Harbour Heights, FL. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be held 12:00PM-1:00PM, Monday, April 21, 2014 at Church of the Nazarene, 512 Allen Street Punta Gorda, FL 33950 with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00PM at the church. Pastors Jason Hawk and John Denby will be officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date by the family in Milford, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Samuels name to Church of the Nazarene, 512 Allen St. Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
