Shirley Quick
October 8, 1931 - September 13, 2008

She was born October 8, 1931 in Shattuck, Oklahoma and moved to Port Charlotte in 1969 from Kansas City, Missouri. Shirley graduated from East Wichita High School in 1950. She attended Murdock Baptist Church of Port Charlotte and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lake Charles, LA Chapter, and of the Marine Corps League of Charlotte County Chapter 82 Auxiliary of Port Charlotte.

Survived by three sons, Danny Joe Quick of Punta Gorda, FL, Gerald Quick of Port Charlotte and Gary Welty of Florence, KS; her mother, Frances Hatfield of Florence, KS; 6 grandchildren, Jason, Tiffany, Kara Lee, Kayla, Ryan and Patrick Quick. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joe B. Quick who died December 30, 2007.

I was friends with Kayla Quick for many years of my life (amazing girl) and she only spoke of her grandma with the most admiration. While I do not talk to Kayla anymore I know that she will be succesful and her this will in large part be because of guidance of her grandmother.
