Sonja Shiner, 72, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Bayfront Health Port Charlotte.

Sonia was born to Paul and Olga Meurer on October 14, 1945 in Medford, Massachusetts. Sonja was a loving mother who loved life to the fullest. She loved to visit the YMCA, play mahjong, arts and craft but mostly spending her time with her grandchildren who she adored and her friends. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Survivors include her son, Michael Fay of Port Charlotte; her daughter, Linda West of Brockport, NY; 2 sister, Christine Leibowitz of CT and Paula Meurer of FL and 3 grandchildren, Brendan, Christopher and Addison.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date by the family in Massachusetts.
