Stanley Demain, 87, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Born November 8, 1923 in New York City, Stanley moved to Punta Gorda in 1990. A World War II U.S. Navy veteran and Pearl Harbor Survivor, he was Vice President of Bendix Aerospace Division, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, the Kaneohe Clippers, Punta Gorda Civic Association, and Temple Shalom in Port Charlotte.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judith Demain; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Joyce Demain; daughter, Cathy Mann; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and a brother, Norm Demain.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 NOON Sunday, September 18, 2011, at Roberson Funeral Homes, Port Charlotte Chapel. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.

Dear Judy, Tom and I are sorry for your loss. We fell in love with you and Stan one our cruise together. I loved that we had dinner together every night. Stan and you will always be in our memories.

Hi Judy, My wife Mo and I met you and Stan on a Silversea cruise of the Mediterranean in 2005 and you were both very kind to us and invited us to your table. I'll always remember Stan getting 'lost' in that little hilltop village in Algeria, you looking for him, and then Stan turning up without a care in the world. I often think of you both which is why I was googling you today in the hopes of catching up with a bit of your recent history. So sorry to hear of Stan's passing. Dear Judy and Norman, It has been a lifetime of years but we are very closely connected through Uncle Irving, my mother Dorothy Kerner's brother. Dear Judy, I shall never forget the many kindnesses that Stan bestowed on me. No matter what may have transpired between us, you and Stan remain in my heart as dear friends. I have read somewhere that no one really dies who is remembered and I shall always remember Stan and his generousity of friendship and spirit.
