Stephen M. Duncan, 63, of North Port, Florida and was a long time resident of Johnson County passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Venice Regional Medical Center in Venice, FL.

Stephen was born September 3, 1950 to Melvin and Juanita in Indianapolis, IN and moved to North Port in March of 2013. Steve was a loyal and active member of the Elks Lodge 1818 in Franklin, IN. He was an avid sports fanatic of the Indiana Hoosiers and Indianapolis Colts teams. Steve enjoyed golf, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sonja; 4 sons, Marty Burton of Franklin, IN, Andrew Burton of Richmond, VA, Patrick Duncan and Matthew Duncan both of Indianapolis, IN; a brother, Tony Duncan of Greenwood, IN; 2 sisters, Barbara Castile and Janet Duncan both of Greenwood, IN and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his son, Mike Duncan and 2 brothers, John and Tim.

A Celebration of life service will be held 6:00 PM Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Franklin Elks Lodge 1818, 40 North Water St. Franklin, IN 46131. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mike Duncan Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 354 Franklin, IN 46131.
