Sue Gibson Duncan Hall, 74, of Punta Gorda, Florida went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born December 17, 1938 in Waynesville, N.C. to Ragga J. Duncan and Evelyn G. Duncan. Sue married Edgar W. Hall June 26, 1958 and they had three Children. Sue and Ed moved to Punta Gorda in 1994 after spending 32 years in Haymarket, Virginia. She was a kind, caring woman who loved homemaking and cooking. She served as team mother for little league teams her two sons were involved with along with being PTO President of the elementary school that all three attended. Sue retired from Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative in Manassas, VA in 1994 and again from the City of North Port, FL in 2007.

Sue is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Edgar; a daughter, Cathy Baldwin of Pelham, AL; 2 sons, Chris and Kirk Hall both of Ft. Myers Beach, FL; 2 sisters, Cecile Folan of Fredericksburg, VA and Carey Hess of Charlottesville, VA; a brother, Julian Duncan of San Antonio, TX; 5 grandchildren, Courtney, Chelsea, Turner, Ashley and Trent; 5 great-grandchildren, Heidi, Cassidy, Lilly, Sam and Jackson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, a nephew John and a niece, Julie.

A visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway Falls Church, VA 22042. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 992 Tamiami Trail, Unit C-2 Port Charlotte, FL 33953 or go online to www.cancer.org.

Dear Ed and Family, Susie was such a dear friend, one that time never seemed to change. We always picked up right where we left off. Jack and I are so greatful to have had such a wonderful visit with all of you last year and had looked forward to seeing you again this year. Jack, the kids and I are deeply saddened. I look at her beautiful smiling face and can't beleive she's gone. Her humor,smile and laughter are forever with us. She will be missed. Jack anf Toni

Dearest Ed and Family: How can we express in writing our profound sadness with the passing of our dearest friend, Susie. We have been blessed to have Sue and Ed in our lives for over 55 years...We have grown up together, raised our families together and enjoyed many special years that have created memories we will always cherish. Although this past year has been a struggle for survival, Sue never gave up the fight to be here for her beloved family and friends. God has called her home and she will be waiting for us all to join her with her beautiful smile and grace. Ed & famly Sue is a precious child of God and the Lord is rejoicing over her homecoming. She was a special friend to us. We extend our sympathies to Ed and the family.

Dear Ed and Family, We were shocked to read about Sue`s passing in the paper. We weren`t aware that this lovely lady had gotten cancer again. How sad that is. You have our very deepest sympathy. Sue was a wonderful person to us. We always had a good time when we were with her, so there will be many good memories to remember. Sue was such a special person and such a classy lady! We shared many years of friendship in our RV groups and always enjoyed the times when Ed & Sue were with us. We will miss her smiling face and cheerful attitude even when illness loomed in her life. She is now in peace and no longer suffering and we send our deepest sympathies to her loving family.

I don't remember a time when you were not part of my life. I feel like part of me has been taken away. I will always love you and miss you, my beautiful little sister.

We are so sorry to learn of the dear person Sue who passed away. We will have many memories of Ed & Sue. May she rest in piece.G
