Sylvia L. Arnott, 89, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.

Sylvia was born to William B. and Mary E. Arnott on May 29, 1925 in New York, New York and moved to Florida in 1987 from there. She was a retired registered nurse at Bellevue Hospital in New York, NY for 36 years. She was a member of Woman’s Coalition, Daughter’s of the King, Chi Eta Phi Sorority and Omega Eta Chapter, Inc all of Port Charlotte. She was a wonderful, caring and compassionate woman who will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Yvonne M. (Fitzroy) Edwards of Elmont, NY; a sister, Amy Nembhard of Jamaica, NY; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM, Thursday, July 31, 2014 at St. James Episcopal Church, 1365 Viscaya Drive Port Charlotte, FL 33952. A funeral service will follow at 11:00AM at the church. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, FL.
