Thomas G. “Tommy” McCormick, age 61, passed away November 19, 2015 at his home in Punta Gorda, FL.

Tommy was born August 5, 1954 in Titusville, FL but lived in Arcadia most of his life before moving to Punta Gorda a few years ago. Tommy loved boating, fishing, and racing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Tommy is survived by his daughter Roxanne (Gabriel) Gaitan, two brothers; Doug McCormick, Punta Gorda, FL and Brad (Angela) Shirley, Rotonda, FL, two sisters; Margaret Gonzalez, Arcadia, FL and Melissa (James) Mackey, Lubbock, TX, a sister-in-law Annie McCormick, Punta Gorda, FL and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, William McCormick and Betty J. Shirley, a step-father Milton Shirley, Brother Jimmy McCormick and his beloved pug J-Lo.

A memorial will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Roxanne Gaitan to help with cremation expenses at SunTrust Bank of Arcadia, 10 S DeSoto Ave, Arcadia, FL 34266, (863)263-3328.

I knew Tommy for many years. I work at Walmart and would go out every morning after my shift to see JLo . I am so devastated to hear about Tommy and JLo. I am thinking about you Doug and hope to see you soon.
