Tom Finney, 89, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away in Port Charlotte on Sunday, April 13th, 2025.
Born on November 14, 1935 in Ware, Massachusetts. Tom was the third child of John Finney and Ethel (Streeter) Finney. Tom is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Leroux) Finney. Tom was predeceased by his brother, John Finney Jr. Tom leaves his sister, Florence Sterns, his three daughters, Diana Peterson, Diedra Finney and Deborah Kelleher and two sons, Thomas II and Arthur Finney. Tom is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Tom graduated from Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky where he obtained a degree in theology, which remained an integral part of the duration of his life. He retired from Astra Pharmaceutical in 1998 and then enjoyed working nights at Walgreens until he officially retired in 2016.
Tom was a kind, attentive and funny father and husband. As a cancer survivor, Tom had a zest for life, leaving anyone he met as a friend. He was a quiet presence, always waiting to share a joke or funny story. Tom spent the end of his life, enjoying living on the water, spending time with his wife, attending church, and working out.
Private burial to be announced at a later date to take place in Massachusetts.
