Virginio also known to his friends as Joe was born November 27, 1934 in Aibonito, Puerto Rico and moved to Port Charlotte in 1997 from Willimantic, Connecticut. Virginio was a wonderful man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a kindhearted man who provided anything he could to help those in need. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mildred Vicente; 2 daughters, Robin (Ricardo) Rossetti of Scotland, CT and Lourdes Valentin of Willimantic, CT; 2 sons, Joe V. (Kristine) Vicente of Glastonbury, CT and Richard S. (Patty) Vicente of Jacksonville, FL; a brother in law, Duane Ruggles; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; a nephew, Joe Gonzalez and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Paula L. Vicente.
A Memorial Service was held 2:00PM, Monday, January 7, 2013 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Inurnment will be held at a later date by the family.
Friends may visit www.robersonfh.com to sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family. Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel.

Uncle Joe, I came into your family at 15 years old.You and Aunt Millie welcomed me with open arms and open hearts.You never judged me.I had 4 children and you loved them all .But we all know you and J.J. had a special bond.He will hold the memories close to him as we all will. After I got divorced you still treated me as family,even my new husband Cliff.You made him feel very welcomed . He never did so many shots as he did with you. lol..Every time we came over you and Aunt Mille would be out in the kitchen cooking. I'm sure going to miss your fried bananas.We always looked forward going to Florida to see you.But we will still stop in and check on your beautiful wife. I will miss you so much Uncle Joe.I will always love you with all my heart..So until we meet again ,I will pray to you every night. You and me at the ball park, watching boxing on television, walking with you while you held my hand, hanging out with you and your friends when I was a small child and the million other times you and me would be father and son. I looked up to you then and I will always look up to you dad because there was no other man like you. You were the best dad and I never wanted anyone but you for a dad. I will always love you and I will always be with you in my heart and will see you soon I know. Love you Dad, be happy where you are and know that mom is okay and that she will always love you.
