Vito Caradonna, 82, longtime resident of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Port Charlotte.
Born on January 25, 1943, in Sicily, Italy to Rosario and Antonia Caradonna, Vito who immigrated to New York in the U.S. met and later married Margherita (Zinerco) on June 18, 1989. When not spending time with his wife and family, he enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting and fishng. He worked in New York as an excavator until 2001. He and his wife Margherita, then retired to Southwest Florida where he resided until his passing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Margherita Caradonna, his three children to his first wife, Rosario (Caterina), Antoinette (Marcus), and Maurice (Amy); eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Vito will be held on Thursday, October 9, 20205, from 4 to 7 PM at Roberson Funeral Home’s Port Charlotte Chapel located at 2151 Tamaimi Trail in Port Charlotte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Vito on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church located at 1441 Spear St. in Port Charlotte. Committal will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens’ cemetery also in Port Charlotte.
