Wayne Sidney Hanson, Jr. 72, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Signature Healthcare of Port Charlotte.

Wayne was born June 5, 1945 in Arlington, VA to Wayne Sidney Sr. and Eleanor Ann (Cole) Hanson. He graduated from Einstein Senior High School in Wheaton, Maryland in 1964.

Survivors include his 5 sons and a daughter, Joseph Thomas (Jamie) of Greenville, SC, Richard Christopher (Sarah) of Charlotte, NC, Susan Aubrey (Jayjock) of Myrtle Beach, NC, Matthew Thomas (Elizabeth) of Fayetteville, NC, David Cole of Waco, TX and Keith Aaron of Port Charlotte; 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A private family service and celebration of life will be held on March 30, 2018 followed by scattering of ashes in the Gulf of Mexico while attended by his children.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Treatment & Research Center Ramsey Foundation, 640 Jackson Street St. Paul, MN 55101-9021.
