Wesley Ernst Chery, 21, of Port Charlotte, Florida died as a result of automobile accident Monday December 5, 2016 in Port Charlotte.

He was born September 15, 1995 in Port Charlotte to his parents Yves and Mary Chery. He graduated from Charlotte High School in 2014, where he played Tarpon Football. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend, who will be missed but not forgotten. Wesley loved to play basketball, football, ride his 4-wheeler and motorcycle. He was a people person and wherever he went, he brought a smile and joy. Wesley loved life and music.

Survived his loving family, his parents Yves and Mary Chery of Port Charlotte; a sister, Eva Chery of Port Charlotte; three brothers, Yves Chery Jr. and Joel Chery both of Port Charlotte, Alan Chery of Tampa; grandmother, Marlene Horace of Port Charlotte; his nieces, Evangeline, Harper, and Mia of Port Charlotte; many aunts and uncles and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Wake Service at 7:00 PM at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte. A reception will be held following services at the Punta Gorda Women’s Club, 118 Sullivan Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.

It was my privilege to be Wesley's Kindergarten teacher. Already at 5 years old, Wesley was full of life and energy! I will always remember his performance in the Kindergarten circus and how he always asked me to pass the football with him at recess. As I ran into Wesley throughout the years, he still flashed that vibrant smile and always gave me a hug. He will be missed by so many! May the peace that only God can give provide comfort to all those who know & love Wesley.
