WILLIAM C. BUMFORD, 85, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Thursday,
September 20, 2007 at his residence.
He was born March 24, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Port Charlotte
in 1986 from St. Paul, Minnesota. He was a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army and
also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. William was a retired supervisor for
C.F. Industries of St. Paul and also the former owner of Deep Creek Hair Design of
Punta Gorda. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Port
Charlotte, Holy Names Society of St. Charles and a former member of American
Legion Post #110 of Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 57 years, Margaret A.
(Peggy) Bumford of Port Charlotte; a daughter, Barbara K. (husband-Dr. Roger) Dunphy
of Fort Myers, FL; a son, Capt. W. Timothy (Kathryn) Bumford of Crownsville, MD;
a sister, Margaret Goff of Minneapolis, MN; six grandchildren, Kristin Dunphy,
Kevin Dunphy, Kariann Dunphy, Laura Bumford, Timothy Bumford and Marc Bumford.
