William (Bill) F. Barton Sr., 69, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2026, at Tidewell Hospice House in Venice, Florida.
Bill was born to Mary and George Barton on September 17, 1956, in New York City. A professional chef by trade and an avid fisherman at heart, Bill, affectionately called “Pops” loved cooking for a crowd and spending his days on the waters of Charlotte Harbor. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and many friends.
Even in the midst of an unexpected late-stage cancer diagnosis, Bill kept everyone laughing and his eyes focused on Jesus. His faith kept him steady.
Survivors include his loving children, daughters Katie Griswold of North Port, FL and Bethany Herron of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Matthew Barton and Billy Barton, Jr. both of Port Charlotte, FL; sisters Ann Marie and Trisha; and brothers Michael and Brian.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Family Church in Port Charlotte, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Conversation Association.
Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to extend condolences to the family. Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Homes & Crematory, Port Charlotte Chapel.
