Marjorie Louise “Marjie” Hansen, 96, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away at Tidewell Hospice in Venice, Florida.
Marjie was born in Snover, Michigan to the late Clara(Gerstenberger) and John G. Innes on July 27, 1928.
She attended Marlette High School and upon graduating, Marjie moved to Chicago, Illinois where she attended Ray Vogue School of Interior design and then Daley college, where she was a member of Phi Theta Kapa sorority. Marjie later attended Florida Southern College, graduating in 1999 and became a substitute teacher.
During her life, she gave to her community in many ways. Meals on Wheels, Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the Library, The Humane Society, People for Trees, Coast Guard Auxiliary, worked the elections, the Census Bureau and was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Port Charlotte where she served as a Deacon.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Captain Erling B. Hansen, and brothers, Loyal and Marvin and sister, Elaine. She is survived by her daughter, Charmain Devereaux(Tim), stepson Svend Hansen(Ingrid), sisters Jeanette, Lois(Lyman)and brother Leonard.
Marjorie Loved all of God’s creatures, especially her cats.
