Donald George Wyckoff, 57, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was the second child born to Donald and Mary Wyckoff and was born in Trenton, New Jersey on July 9, 1968. He was raised in Bowie, Maryland, where he spent his early years.
After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia aboard the USS John F. Kennedy, serving as a catapult operator and responsible for operating, maintaining, and managing the steam/hydraulic catapults, arresting gear, and barricades used to launch and recover aircraft. During his service, he participated in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm during the Gulf War.
Following his military service, he spent most of his time working as a heavy equipment mechanic for various companies. He was skilled with his hands and took pride in his work. He was also an avid history enthusiast and enjoyed astronomy.
He is survived by his mother, Mary L. Wyckoff, and his sisters, Linda M. Flynn and Barbara I. Stachnik, and extended family who will remember him with love. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Wyckoff, and his long-time partner, Sarah Brown.
A private funeral service will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery in Florida at a later date.
