Ross Carpenter, age 66, a resident of Port Charlotte, Florida, lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident while driving home from work on May 6, 2026, in Port Charlotte.
Those who knew Ross will recall his love for riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with friends and club members and sharing time with them and his girlfriend, Anne.
Ross graduated from Charlotte High School and has maintained close friendships with classmates throughout his life. He was considered a “brother” by many.
He was a Certified Dive Master and had been hoping his next dive would be at the Phosphate Docks in Boca Grande.
Ross was known by all as a good man who will be remembered for his big heart and generosity. He freely gave his time and resources, providing nurture and care for both his mother and sister during their times of need.
Most notable was his playful sense of humor, life-of-the-party personality and contagious laugh. His grandchildren referred to him as “funny” grandpa. He was taken from them too soon and his family will make sure his memory and legacy lives on through them.
Ross is survived by his two daughters, Sheila Koenig (Glenn) and Shauna Jones, and four grandchildren, Tristyn, Max, Hazel and Camryn, together with his two brothers, Charles Carpenter (Brenda) and Phillip Carpenter (Yvonne), nieces Carlene and Heather and nephews Jason, Phillip, Chuck, Casey and John and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Janet.
Family and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life at the Roberson Funeral Home in Port Charlotte on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
