Clarence R. Fischer, 80, of Punta Gorda, Florida, former resident of Watertown, Connecticut, died Monday, October 1, 2007 at his Punta Gorda residence.
Clarence was born November 9, 1926 in Waterbury, Connecticut. A veteran of World War II, U.S. Navy and retired Eyelet Tool & Die Maker, he moved to North Port, Florida from his native Connecticut in 1999, and relocated to Punta Gorda in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Posts in Watertown, Connecticut, and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2626 in Punta Gorda.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Nancy P. (nee-Perkins) Fischer; two sons, Christopher R. Fischer of Plantsville, CT, and Lawrence A. Fischer of Sanbornton, NH; one granddaughter, Krystle M. Schmitt of Sherwood, AR; one grandson, Cameron R. Fischer of Milpitas, CA; one sister, Joan Johnson of Plymouth, CT; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother, and two sisters.
