Jean Adrien Lops, 79, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Friday, September 7, 2007 at his home.
He was born April 27, 1928 in Grand Goave, Haiti and moved to Stamford, Connecticut where he lived for many years before he moved to Port Charlotte 8 months ago. He was an auto mechanic for Stamford Oldsmobile dealership for many years prior to work for the Policast Glass Company. He then opened and operated a neighbor hood grocery store in Stamford, CT for many years before retiring to Port Charlotte. He was an active member of the Haitian community in Stamford for 30 years and was a very hard worker in everything he did from a loving father to a wonderful husband. He will truly be missed by his family and friends who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Antoinette Lops; a son Riblas Lops of Stamford, CT; daughters, Mercia Lops-Ulysse of Norwalk, CT, Mona Lops-Dorvil of Nanvet, NY, Locita Lops-Francois of Port Charlotte, Chantal Lops-Azulphar of Greenwich, CT, M. Elvire Lops-Hyppolite of Port Charlotte, Carolle Lops of Port Charlotte, and Genevieve Lops of Haiti; 18 Grandchildren 5 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and was the last of 22 children.
