Lorraine M. VerPlanck, 84, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 in Port Charlotte at Peace River Regional Medical Center.
Born February 10, 1922 in Saginaw, Michigan, Lorraine, a retired telephone operator for Michigan Bell Telephone Company, moved to Port Charlotte from Jackson, Michigan in 1979. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Punta Gorda, Florida, past member of the Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club, Charlotte Harbor, The Red Hat Society, and past president and former member of the Charlettes of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #2152 in Port Charlotte.
Survivors include two children, daughter Jean Hackenburg of Santa Rosa, CA, and son James Frederick “Fred” VerPlanck of Seattle, WA; three granddaughters, three great granddaughters, three nephews and one niece.
