CLARINE M. WILLIS-BALFOUR, 74, of Punta Gorda, Florida, died Monday morning, May 26, 2008 surrounded by the love of her family, at her home.
Born February 13, 1934 in Jamaica, West Indies, Clarine emigrated from her native Jamaica to New York where she worked as a certified nursing assistant until retiring to Florida. She moved from Brooklyn, NY to Charlotte County in 1998, and was a member of the Port Charlotte New Testament Church of God in Port Charlotte.
Clarine is survived by her beloved family, husband Hartley Balfour; daughters, Audrey D. Balfour of Port Charlotte, Elaine Richards of North Port, FL, and Meloney Clarke of Philadelphia, PA; sons, Patrick Balfour of Brooklyn, NY, Derrick and Rollin Hinds both of Jamaica, West Indies; 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; 11 sisters, 3 brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dudley and Icilda (nee-McKenzie) Simms, a son Elvis Balfour, and daughter Marcia Simms.
