Debi Forst, 59, went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2012 at Moffitt Cancer Center surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Debi will be remembered for her loving spirit and the devotion she showed during the 30 plus years she cared for and educated children. Most recently she was co-owner and director of Children’s Christian Center in Port Charlotte. She was also director of Joyful Noise Learning Center which she started at Pilgrim Church. Many will remember her from her early days at WeeCare DayCare. But her most precious job of all, was Grammy to Hailey and Drew.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Bob, her children, Brandon, Courtney and Stephanie and their father Scott, her grandchildren Hailey and Drew, and her best friends Lisa and Jeannie. Her siblings Mike, Patty, Steve, Sharon and Joe will all miss her dearly.
Visitations will be held Thursday, February 16th from 6-8PM at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 17th at 11AM at Pilgrim United Church of Christ , Rampart Blvd. Port Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Debi Forst Foundation, which is set to help children with leukemia, at P.O. Box 380418, Murdock FL 33938.

One of the last times I remember seeing Debi we were both at the park with our granddaughters...we watched them play while we talked and hugged and apologized to each other for the misunderstanding we had when I was employed by her. Debi allowed me to explore who I wanted to be as a teacher and unfortunately I didn't understand this until after I stopped working for her. One time when Debi took a vacation she brought all of her staff a gift which I still keep displayed in my living room...it's a candle holder with 3 children holding hands and on the base it has the saying "Pray for Peace".
My thoughts and prayers are with Debi and her family....may you all find Peace and comfort knowing that she is with her Awesome God.

We raised our children together, cheered together, sang together, played together, got into trouble together, and shared lots of laughter together. I will never forget our Halloween parties, our Pop Warner days, our Charlotte Cheerleading Academy trip to Dallas, our trips to watch Night Wing, and the love that Debi had for life. Once we went to see Rod Stewart in St Pete and finangled our way from the nose-bleed section (the seats we could afford) to the 5th row on the floor. She just had that way about her!! I met Mrs. Forst in 2010 when I was searching for a preschool for my daughter Kendra. Debi was so gracious and open and I immediately knew I wanted Kendra to be in her loving environment. The transition to preschool from private daycare was tumultuous to say the least, but Debi was so patient and kind that Kendra quickly formed a special bond with her. And so did my husband and I. She was always available to us for questions and took special care to address our concerns, no matter how silly or small, with patience and love......the same way she did with each child and teacher and parent around her.
Debi's diagnosis of leukemia hit me very hard, and I was inspired to become a bone marrow donor. My husband followed suit and became a registered donor as well, a gesture that touched Mrs. Forst very much.
Though I am glad that she is no longer in pain, Debi's passing leaves me with a deep sadness and heavy heart. Her smile and loving demeanor will be missed and her absense will be felt by all that knew and loved her. But I know her legacy will live on in us all and through the continued teaching of God's word at the Children's Christian Center.
My deepest condolences go to her family and friends in this difficult time.

Oh the wonderful times I can recall, the Halloween events, the Christmas gatherings, the weekends at the beach are all even more special in my heart. Debi is shining down on us and spreading joy to all the little children that are with her. May she rest in eternal peace.

Miss Debbie took are of my sons Christopher and Matthew when she owned Wee Care Day Care. She always had such a wonderful smile on her face even when it seemed like there was chaos all around. She played a big part in raising my boys through out the years, even when she closed Wee Care she asked me if she could watch my boys at her home. My deepest sympathy to Bob and the entire family. My heart shattered when I heard of Debi's passing. What an awesome woman! We were privileged to have our daughter attend Joyful Noise when she was the director. She was loving and caring with every single child. So, of course we followed her to Children's Christian Center. She and Mrs. Baker filled that place and the kids with so much love. I knew my daughter attended the best center in the county. She will be missed immensely by so, so many. Yet, I can imagine now she is singing songs and praying over meals with all the "little" angels in Heaven. We love you, Debi ! May you rest in peace.

I still find it hard to believe that Debi is gone. She was truly a beautiful person, inside and out, and her kindness and dedication to my children when they were at Joyful Noise touched my entire family. We are all blessed that we had the chance to know her and her wonderful family, and to hear her sing during the time we were at Pilgrim Church together. She had a lovely voice, that was always praising God in some way. Debi, we will miss you, and are thankful that our paths crossed.
