Charles Theophilus Jordan was born to Imogene Lemon on March 25, 1930 in Oriente, Cuba. Charles migrated to Jamaica, West Indies with his mother Imogene in 1942. Charles mother, Imogene married Thomas Edward Jordan who later adopted Charles as his son from which Charles received the name Jordan. Charles attended Wilfield Primary School in Kingston. He left school early and struggled to learn English in order to work and help support his mother, brothers and sisters while his stepfather and eldest brother Louis, worked abroad in Cuba. His brothers can recall how much he loved and protected his family and would give his last for them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sybil, his bothers Frank, Thomas, Harry and Cloyde, his sisters Lileth and Delores, his children Sonia Williams, David Jordan, Elaine Mcfarquhar, Jennifer Cookhorn, David Dacosta, Marleen Jordan, Cecile Jamir and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 pm. this Friday, June 15, 2012 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM. Saturday, June 16, at the Port Charlotte New Testament Church of God. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Love a Child, Inc.
Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel.
