Doris May Lariviere, 86, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Born March 30, 1928 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to the late Herbert and Aldea (nee – Lavallee) Wilding, Doris, a graduate of Hill College in Woonsocket, RI, and retired employee for the city of Woonsocket, moved to the Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda area in 1991 with her husband Maurice M. Lariviere. Doris, a former member of the Beta Sigma Phi Business Girls Sorority, was a proud founding member of San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. She was also a Past President and member of San Antonio’s Women’s Guild, and Pastoral and Eucharistic Ministries, as well as a regular volunteer at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Maurice “Moe” Lariviere, and cousin and goddaughter, Mrs. Lee (Michael) Willis.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM Friday , October 10, 2014 at San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Committal will follow at San Antonio Catholic Church Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Doris’s name are suggested to San Antonio Catholic Church 24445 Rampart Blvd, Port Charlotte, Florida 33980.
