David Bruce Bowling, 81, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Tidewell Hospice Inc. in Englewood, Florida.
David was born June 28, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Port Charlotte 19 years ago from Centerville, MD. David was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Myakka River Lodge No. 2000 of Punta Gorda, FL, and Odd Fellows Lemon Bay Rebekah Lodge No. 80 of Englewood, FL; he was also a member of the El Jobean Community League, Inc. in El Jobean, FL, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and Columbia Typographical Union 101-12. He enjoyed life to the fullest and spending time with his family and friends. David will be remembered and loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Geneva; his son and daughter-in-law, William C. and Sue Green of Centerville, MD; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Green-Rich and Mike Rich of Key West, FL and 4 grandchildren, Evan, Thomas, Chelsea and Erika.
Inurnment with military honors will be held at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
