Clyde Edward Kinney, 85, a resident of Bowie for 30 years, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 in Punta Gorda, Florida where he has resided for some years.

In his early years he worked for Northern Pacific Railroad, followed by long service and retirement as an investigator for the federal government retiring in 1985. Ed had a passion for sports (especially basketball) and was an eternal optimist who never knew a stranger.

He was preceded in death by Shirley Kinney, his wife of 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Janice Kinney, his four children – Kelly, Vicki, Wendy and Jay; six grandchildren, Matt, Josh, Kory, Lee, Eddie, Clare, and three great grandchildren; Aja, Indi, and Benjamin, four step children and seven step-grandchildren.

The Kinney family will conduct a private memorial service at a future date.

Kelly, Vicky, Wendy and Jay, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. He was a good man and a good father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Kinney. With his accomplishments, and dedications, both in his professional life and personal one, he was an amazing man! I won't pretend to know what you're going through, but what has helped me deal with the loss of those I love is turning to the Scriptures, something that has been a real source of comfort. One Scripture that gives me hope is John 11:25, which says, " Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." I hope that this verse will also comfort you and, I hope you and your family can get through this difficult time.
