Dolores M. Meyer, 87, of South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL, passed away peacefully Friday, March 25, 2016 in Port Charlotte.

Born August 17, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Joseph and Helen (nee-Paprocki) Maslanka, Dolores and her husband Dean moved from Addison, IL to Burnt Store Isles in 1987 where they resided for 27 years. Dolores, a retired homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother, was a Charter and Life member of Burnt Store Isles Boat Club, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Guild of Our Lady in Punta Gorda, FL.

She is survived by her husband of over 66 years, Dean G. Meyer; son, Dean J. (Diane) Meyer of Minnetonka, MN; daughter, Denise (Gary) Vance of Carmel, IN; six grandchildren, Karen, Daniel, and Kristina Meyer, and Benjamin (Lauren) and Nicholas Vance, and Elizabeth (Nathan) Wells; two great grandchildren, Owen and Weston Vance; and a sister, Lorraine Kuta of Punta Gorda, FL. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by a daughter, Doreen, and a sister, Leona Plizga.

Visitation will be held this Monday, March 28, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Homes’ Punta Gorda Chapel at 215 Mary Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
