Closeil M. Olivier, 74, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully Monday, May 2nd, 2016, with his family by his side, at his Port Charlotte home.
Born February 5, 1942 in Haiti, to the late Nicholas Jean-Baptiste, and Melina Olivier, Closeil immigrated to New York in 1970 were he resided until relocating with his wife Ildere, to Port Charlotte in 1988. He continued to work as a hospital custodial engineer until his retirement, and was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 43 years, Ildere Olivier; children, Claudie Olivier of Montreal, Canada, Joanne Olivier of West Dundee, IL, Claudel (Rolande) Olivier of Riverview, FL, Marline Olivier (Joseph) Maizonet, of West Dundee, IL, and Matthew Olivier of Gainesville, FL; and five grandchildren; sisters Clairmira Dorleans, Marie Olivier, and Maryse Jean-Baptiste; brothers, Jean Dorleans, and Romel Jean-Baptiste; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held this Friday, May 13, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. with evening Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel, 2151 Tamiami Trail. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. A private committal will be held at a later date.
