Billie Evelyn Cope, 86, of Coral Springs, Florida, formerly of Port Charlotte, died Monday, November 20, 2017, at Tamarac Rehabilitation and Health Center, Tamarac, Florida.
She was born March 18, 1931, in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late Forrest and Virginia (Reed) Payton. Billie was a former flight attendant for Eastern Air Lines. She moved to Port Charlotte from Miami in 1989, with her husband, Lorin T. Cope, who died in 2012. In January of this year she moved to Coral Springs.
She is survived by her loving family, three daughters, Kimberly (Ralph) Gimenez of Coral Springs, FL, Christy (Kirk) San Cartier of Morgantown, KY and Carla Cope of Lakewood Ranch, FL; a sister, Lois Carroll of Lexington, KY; a sister-in-law, Erma Chadwick, of Mantua, OH, four grandchildren, Adreanna Gimenez, Evan Gimenez, Laura Ashley Chandler and Randy San Cartier and two great grandchildren, Wyatt San Cartier and Dustin San Cartier.
Graveside services and interment will be held, Friday, November 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 1380 Forrest Nelson Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33952. Pastor David Logan of Murdock Baptist Church will officiate. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to The Dementia Society of America www.dementiasociety.org
