Ann Stout, age 77, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, in Port Charlotte.
Born Bessie Ann Fields in Illinois, in December of 1940, to the late Jess and Idell Fields, Ann and her beloved husband Charles W. Stout whom she married in 1966, moved from her native Illinois to Port Charlotte in 1980. For 26 years Ann headed as Director the Charlotte Technical Center’s Culinary Arts & Commercial Foods department. As a retired educator, she served as President (Past) of the Florida Retired Educators Association, Executive Board Member of the Salvation Army of Port Charlotte, member of the Charlotte County Republican Club, and Gamma Nu Sorority.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Charles W. Stout; daughters Tammy Bradford, Debra Sue Flinn, and Anita Stout; a sister, Jessie Jean Steel, and brothers John Fields, Michael Tarvin and Ike Tarvin; as well as numerous grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie Stout, and a son, Kirk Aaron Stout.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, IL. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Johnston City, on Monday, June 25, and burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. A Memorial service celebrating Ann’s life will be held in Port Charlotte at a later date and location to be announced.
