Beverly Bacon, 74, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, after a courageous journey with dementia.
Born in Gadsden, Alabama, on January 20, 1951, to Robert and Betty Bacon, Beverly moved with her family to Miami and later to Fort Myers, where she attended Fort Myers High School. She began her college education at the University of Alabama and went on to earn her associate’s degree from Edison Community College in Fort Myers.
In 1973, her family relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida, where Beverly became involved in the family’s growing furniture business. As the only daughter among four children, she played an integral role in helping shape what would become a beloved name in the region—Palmer Furniture and later Bacon’s Furniture.
In the early 1980s, Beverly moved to Maitland, Florida, and continued her career in the industry by opening Palmer’s Bedding, Brass and Patio Too. She had a sharp business sense, a natural flair for design, and a heart for helping others find comfort and beauty in their homes.
Beverly was a woman of faith and remained actively involved in her church communities over the years, first at Aloma Baptist and later at Oviedo Baptist. She cherished spending time with her family, relaxing at the beach, and exploring new places through travel. Her home was a gathering place for many, and she was known for her incredible home-cooked meals, especially her famous macaroni and cheese. Her warm, radiant smile could light up any room, and she will always be remembered for her selfless heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering kindness.
She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Wickland (Mike) and Suzanne Rondeau (D.J.), and her son, Brett Williams. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Graham, Grayson, Griffin, and Gunnar Wickland, and Olivia and Jaxson Rondeau. She is also lovingly remembered by Marty Williams, her former husband and devoted father to their son, Brett. Beverly also shared a special bond with her beloved grand-dog, Theo, who brought her joy and comfort in her later years. Beverly is survived by her brothers, Bill Bacon (Lynn) and Brad Bacon (Beth), her sister-in-law Ruth Bacon, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Betty Bacon, and her eldest brother, Robert J. Bacon III.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home 2151 Tamiami Trail Port Charlotte, Florida 33949.
