Charlie studied Architectural Design at ICS Correspondence School and was primarily self-motivated and self-educated. This was evident in all his years working at the Demerara Bauxite Company/ Guymine as a Heavy Duty Equipment Operator and building houses, boats, furniture, and caskets when not working at his official job. His carpentry skills were highly sought after because it did not matter how large or small the project, Charlie believed in delivering quality products. He was a long time member of St Aidan’s Anglican Church where he served in numerous ministries. At age 56, Charlie emigrated to the U.S and became a book-binding Machinist for Dunn and Company in Clinton, MA, bringing his hard-working ethic and attention to detail to this job and a new life. He was known to everyone in Clinton as the cheerful, extremely energetic gas station attendant for Mechanic Street Getty. Charlie retired to Northport in 2009 and loved planting and caring for his extensive vegetable garden and traveling with his brother, sisters, and cousins. When he was not tending his garden, he was taking care of his sister’s garden and serving at St Nathaniel Church. Charlie leaves a legacy of hard work, doing any and everything for his family, living life to the fullest and persevering the most mischievous sense of humor.
