Hazel M. Aaron, age 87, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.
Hazel was born on Sunday, October 8, 1933 in Suddie, Guyana, the sixth child of seven children to the late Wreckford and Isabella (Thompson) Callender. Hazel, formerly of Guyana, has been a resident of Port Charlotte since 1990. She was a dedicated Health Care Worker, a job she loved, at a local Port Charlotte Nursing Home until her retirement.
Hazel is survived by her children, Venus Louis of Port Charlotte, FL, June Nurse, Joycelyn Aaron and Floyd Callenda, all of Goodhope, Guyana; a brother, James Callender also of Guyana; eighteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by five of her siblings and in 1991, her husband Donald.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30am on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Roberson Funeral Homes, Port Charlotte Chapel located at 2151 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. A Graveside ceremony with committal to follow will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Port Charlotte also on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 am.
