Jack R. Lytle of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away at the age of 75 on January 22, 2024, while visiting his daughters and friends in Northern Michigan.
Jack was originally from the Port Huron, Michigan area where he lived most of his life until 1991. From 1991 until 2006 he called Lewiston, Michigan home. Warmer weather called Jack and his now deceased wife Mavis to Florida in 2006 where he remained a resident of Southwest Florida until his untimely death.
Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved riding his motorcycle, camping, golfing, photography, site seeing, building, renovating, and remodeling just about anything. His love for his country, family and friends was unparalleled. Those who knew him would say he loved everyone he ever met. Jack loved God with all his heart and wanted all of us to know that Jesus loves us.
Jack was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served our country proudly from 1968-1972 including a tour in the Vietnam War.
Jack is survived by his wife Doreen, her children Sandra, Paula (Russel Stering), Daniel (Trina). Jack’s children are Michelle (Jim Westbrook), Sherri (Clinton Klein), and Jack/Skip (Georgeann). Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Mavis who passed away in 2016. Jack has two surviving siblings, brother James (Jim) Lytle, sisters Janet Lytle-McIntyre and Leeola. He was also preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Francis, brother Jerrold, sister Joann and brother Jerry. Jack has many surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Melissa, Kayanna, Mavrick (Caetlin), Jaxson, Cierra, Carson, CJ, Cristian, Camrynn, Cooper, Carly, Charlee, RJ, Mallie, Oliver, Brian, Kassidy, Cameren, Colin, Kaitlyn, Avery, Hadley, and Liam. Jack also has many surviving cousins, nieces and nephews that love him dearly.
Visitation will be held Saturday February 3, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 PM at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33948. Rev. Denvil Farley of the Port Charlotte Global Methodist Church will officiate with military honors by a U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard. Interment will be held Thursday 1:30 PM, February 15, 2024, at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
